Meet Ann Kostin-McGill

I came to the Lansing area 30 years ago to work as the Fitness Director at the Downtown YMCA. This was the start of my fitness journey as a fitness instructor. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Central Michigan University. I have taught aerobics and strength training for over 30 years. It was also during this time that indoor cycling became a popular class. I started teaching these classes at the YMCA.
With my desire to improve my teaching and understand the science of cycling, I took part in several certifications over the years. I am certified by Keiser, Stages, and Matrix cycling. I also have been a certified personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise for 30 years.
I have worked with local high school athletic teams on flexibility and foam rolling prior to games. I have introduced athletes to foam rolling and showed them the benefits of rolling prior to and after games for increased flexibility and recovery. My plan is to get my massage certification by 2027.
